Fayetteville mayoral race heads to runoff, voters reelect mayors in Bentonville and Rogers

The mayors of Rogers and Bentonville are staying put, while Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan and challenger Molly Rawn head to a runoff in December.
By the numbers: Jordan took about 46.9% of the vote, followed by Rawn with about 36.9%, Tom Terminella with about 12.4% and Adam Fire Cat with nearly 3.8%, according to final but unofficial results from Washington County.
- Bentonville Mayor Stephanie Orman won about 54% of the vote in the city while Steve Galen took about 46%.
- Voters reelected Rogers Mayor Greg Hines with 51% of the vote. His challenger, Chris Latimer, received 49% of the vote.
What's next: The runoff election between Jordan and Rawn is set for Dec. 3.
Local ballot issues
Alcohol sales will be allowed on Sundays in Fayetteville and Siloam Springs after voters approved the issue with 82% support in Fayetteville and 59% in Siloam Springs.
Tontitown voters approved a 0.75% sales tax extension with about 60% of the vote plus bond issues that include $7.1 million for a new police station (60%), $7.1 million for street improvements (76%), $5.5 million for water improvements (72%) and $1.1 million for parks and recreation projects like a community center and improvements to Sbanotto Park (68%).
Greenland will see a new 1.5% sales tax to repay bonds plus $8.5 million in bonds for sewer improvements after voters approved the issues with about 53.5% and 72.7% in favor, respectively.
City Council races
Bentonville
- Ward 3, Position 2 — Incumbent W.P. "Bill" Burckart won with 56% of the vote over Sara Folkins.
- Ward 4, Position 2 — Incumbent Holly Hook won with nearly 58% of the vote followed by Jocelyn Lampkin with almost 29% and Nick Slagle with almost 14%.
Fayetteville
- Ward 3, Position 2 — Incumbent D'Andre Jones won with nearly 64% of the vote in a race with Jody Verser.
- Ward 2, Position 2 — Incumbent Mike Wiederkehr won with just over 50.1% of the vote, defeating Jesse Buchanan.
- Ward 4, Position 2 — This race is headed to a runoff between Todd Hertzberg and Monique Jones. Jones took 41.8% of the vote, and Hertzberg took 41.6%. Brandon Spicher took about 16.6%.
Rogers
- Ward 1, Position 2 — Incumbent Betsy Reithemeyer defeated challenger Chris Collins with about 52% of the vote.
- Ward 2, Position 2 — This race is headed to a runoff with incumbent Margaret "Marge" Wolf and Carissa Cummings. Wolf took about 47.8% of the vote followed by Cummings with 31.2% and Colin Cope with about 21%.
- Ward 3, Position 2 — This race is also headed to a runoff with Hayes Minor and Alicia Hayes. Minor led with about 35.1% of the vote followed by Hayes with about 31.6%, Jessica Edmond with about 23.1% and Mandel Samuels with about 10.2%.
- Ward 4, Position 2 — Incumbent Roger Surly won with about 54% of the vote over Cyndall Hill.
