Flu season dwindling in Arkansas

Data: Arkansas Department of Health; Chart: Axios Visuals

Arkansas reported "low" — 4 on a scale of 13 — for the influenza-like-illness activity level indicator in the Arkansas Department of Health's most recent report.

Why it matters: Fewer people are being hospitalized for the flu than at the height of flu season.

State of play: The four-week period ending March 30 saw 233 flu hospitalizations, compared to 526 during the previous four weeks, according to data from the Health Department.

  • Flu hospitalizations since Oct. 1, 2023, have totaled 1,455.

The big picture: The Health Department reported 110 deaths from the flu this season as of March 30.
