The Metro Council meets Tuesday night, when members are expected to debate a plan to redevelop the East Bank around the new Titans stadium.

Why it matters: The city's agreement with The Fallon Company, which requires council approval, calls for affordable housing, retail development and green space.

State of play: Metro tapped The Fallon Company to handle the redevelopment last year and then announced the specifics of its redevelopment deal with the company in February.

  • That deal is up for discussion and a pivotal vote tonight, which is the last time major changes can be made. If it advances, it would still require one final vote.

Meanwhile: Bills that would overhaul zoning laws to allow for more middle-class housing in Nashville also appear on the agenda. But Councilmember Quin Evans Segall previously said key elements of that plan, which proved controversial with neighborhood groups, would be withdrawn while the city studies the issue.
