Celebrating Record Store Day in Indy

Happy Record Store Day weekend to all who celebrate!

What's happening: The annual celebration of all things vinyl starts Saturday morning with exclusive releases, giveaways and more at record shops throughout Indianapolis.

  • Indy CD & Vinyl opens at 8am with all the Record Store Day titles, sales throughout the store, door prizes for the early birds and a chance to win a signed copy of Taylor Swift's "Folklore" CD.
  • Square Cat Vinyl opens at 8am with exclusive titles, a new drop of used records, giveaways and more.
  • Luna Music will have doughnuts for the diehards waiting in line for its 8am opening, plus new titles, commemorative merch and live music starting at noon.
  • Both locations of Karma Records open at 8am, with prizes, chances to win concert tickets and sales on new and used music.
  • Irvington Vinyl and Books opens at 10am. All used vinyl will be 20% off.

⚾ Cheer on the Indians any day this weekend, as they finish out a four-game homestand against the St. Paul Saints.

  • Friday night's game starts at 7:35pm and tickets start at $13.
  • Saturday's game is 6:35pm and Sunday's is at 1:35pm.

ğŸŽ» Feel the force awaken when the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs live alongside a screening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," 8pm Friday and Saturday at Hilbert Circle Theatre.

🌿 Learn tips for being green, like how to plant an eggshell herb garden, in honor of Earth Day at the Indianapolis Zoo with special events from 10am to 2pm Saturday.

  • Tickets are $26.75 for adults/$22.75 for kids when purchased online or $6 more at the gate.

🍻 Start spending that tax return (or forget about your tax bill for a few hours) at Taxman Brewing's annual Death and Taxes Day beer festival, noon to 4pm at their Bargersville brewery.

  • The festival will feature live music, food vendors, 45 breweries and an exclusive release from Taxman.
  • Tickets start at $20.

🪩 Celebrate the release of "The Tortured Poets Department'' at Candlelight Spring: A Taylor Swift Tribute. The Cyrus Place will host a string quartet playing songs from her catalog Saturday night.

  • The only tickets left are $60 for the 8:45pm performance.

🌏 Get in touch with your earthy side at GaiaFest, a celebration of Mother Earth featuring Hoosier women singers and songwriters, 2-6pm Sunday at Unity Auditorium.

🧅 Stuff yourself for a good cause Sunday at Kan-Kan Cinema and Brasserie's second annual Ramp Fest, a fundraiser where more than a dozen chefs will be serving up small plates celebrating ramps, a wild onion native to the region.
