Detroit Mercy men's basketball (1-27) is breathing a sigh of relief after notching its first win of the season against IUPUI last week, ending a 26-game losing streak.

The intrigue: The Titans were giving the Pistons a run for the longest losing streak in the city but came up one game short of the NBA-record 28-game losing streak.

  • Before tipoff, the Titans honored the life of local legend Earl Cureton, whose jersey hangs from the rafters inside Calihan Hall.
  • Cureton passed away this month. He was 66.
