Kourtny Garrett is leaving her job in Dallas and returning to her roots in the Mile High City to be the CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership.
Catch up quick: This week, Garrett, a Denver native, was named to replace departing chief executive Tami Door, who led the organization for 17 years.
- Garrett worked on the revitalization of downtown Dallas for nearly two decades, our colleagues at Axios Dallas report.
- During her tenure, roughly 40 vacant buildings were brought back to life, driving residents and economic growth to the city.
What she's saying: "I am passionate about the power and importance of cities in driving economic development, innovation and vibrancy," Garrett said in a statement.
What's next: She steps into her new role in January, shortly after Door makes her exit.
