🏃 Mapped: Exercise isn't bigger in Texas

Share of population averaging at least 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week
Data: Brigham and Women's Hospital; Map: Axios Visuals

About half of Texas adults don't get the recommended minimum of 150 minutes of exercise a week.

State of sit: Texans hit at least 150 minutes of weekly exercise less than 50% of the time, according to data from Apple and Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital.

  • That's less than the national average of 54%.

The bottom line: It would take five 30-minute brisk walks a week to hit the recommended minimum.

  • Plus, the CDC recommends two days of muscle-strengthening activity.
