👋 Sam here, back from the Dyngus Day front lines last week.

Beer of the week: Schnitz Ale Brewery's "Piwoski Polish Ale."

State of play: After the celebration April 1, bars around town — especially near the Gordon Square Arts District — can be counted upon to have plenty of leftover Polish beers in stock.

  • Gear up for Tyskie and Okocim specials in the near future.

Zoom in: Piwoski, from Parma's Schnitz Ale, debuted in February. It's a 5%-ABV golden ale that's both light and toasty.

Where to find it: I got one for $5 at Banter on Detroit Avenue, but Schnitz Ale has a helpful beer locator if you want to pick up a six-pack.

  • Or go straight to the source: Schnitz Ale is at 5728 Pearl Road, Parma, and is open seven days a week.
