First Lady Jill Biden wore a yellow dress from Charlotte-based retailer Showroom at a Black History Month event earlier this month.

  • The dress was a long-sleeved midi by Rochas, a Parisian brand Showroom carries.

Catch up quick: Showroom is owned by local style expert Erica Hanks, who spent years styling professional athletes from Carolina Panthers players to NASCAR drivers.

  • Showroom's presence is primarily online, with storefronts in Austin and Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

What they're saying: Hanks tells Axios she was "thrilled" to see FLOTUS in one of their Rochas dresses.

  • "Dr. Biden always looks elegant but I especially love seeing her in rich jewel tones, and the silhouette of the dress is so classically chic," Hanks says.

The big picture: This is the latest notable North Carolina connection to the White House. Last year, a tree from Ashe County was part of the White House holiday display.
