Charlotte’s Home of the Year 2023
Charlotte has many talented designers and architects revitalizing homes across the region. We’re celebrating some of those creative projects with our sixth annual Home of the Year Awards.
How it works: We received dozens of submissions following our call for nominations this year.
- In our selection process, we carefully considered homes that are reflective of this city —we look at design, architecture, originality and craftsmanship.
- This year’s home of the year excels in all of the above plus it’s historically significant and modernly fitted, a true display of Charlotte as it is today.
This year’s winner is a remodeled Plaza Midwood mansion that dates back to the Great Depression.
- Grandfather Homes, Mermans Architecture & Design, Tammy Coulter Design and Studio Cleary Landscape Architecture worked together to remodel it.
- The historic Charles E. Barnhardt House is an elegant example of utilizing traditional details while incorporating modern elements.
