5 of our favorite meals this June

The Axios Charlotte team started off the summer strong and hungry.

Here are five of the best dishes we ate this month, listed in no particular order.

The ahi tuna nachos from Suffolk Punch SouthPark

If a menu includes ahi tuna nachos, my order has already been decided. Pair that with mac-n-cheese with bacon and I’m set. The radish addition to the ahi tuna nachos gave them an extra pop of color, texture and made it feel next-level. — Ashley Mahoney, reporter

The Lavender Vanilla Latte from The Hobbyist in Villa Heights

I’m a firm believer that any day can be made instantly better with the right coffee order. This work of art from The Hobbyist, the reigning champ of my Charlotte coffee shop bracket, comes with pieces of lavender floating on top. — Alexandria Sands, reporter

The Latin Lingo pizza ($18) from Salud Cerveceria in NoDa

I’ve long heard that Salud’s pizzas are a must-try, and the Latin Lingo immediately caught my attention; I mean, tajin on a pizza?! While I would’ve never thought these ingredients could work in the form of ‘za, I was happily proven wrong and would recommend this to any pizza lover (who’s not afraid of a little spice). — McKenzie Rankin, reporter

The 1/4 South from Leroy Fox in South End

I was initially drawn to the patio where you could enjoy a meal with a view of people walking along Camden Road but after one whiff of their food, I knew this was where I’d be having dinner. I had the 1/4 South ($13.50) which is two pieces of their signature fried chicken with a Caesar salad and jalapeno cornbread. — Alexis Clinton, reporter

Sizzlin’ asada & huevos from Que Onda in Plaza Midwood

Que Onda recently launched a new brunch menu at its Plaza Midwood location. We got a sneak peek of the menu before it was released to the public and were able to taste everything on it. My favorite dish was the steak and eggs ($20.95) paired with the Mariah’s glitter cocktail ($12). — Laura Barrero, reporter
