Citywide Charity Scavenger Hunt: A trail of clues will lead participants to four Charlotte businesses. The first person to find the hidden PS5 will win a brand new PS5 console. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Reproductive Rights Coalition. August 1-27. $15. Details.

Queen City Anime Convention at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel: Anime stans rise! This three-day convention celebrates all things animation, manga and comics, video gaming and cosplay. Expect anime industry guest speakers, live performances, cosplay contests, vendors and arcade games. August 5-7. $25-$150. Details

4th Anniversary Party at Pilot Brewing: The celebration is going on all weekend long with activities like a mac & cheese competition, food trucks and even an art auction. August 5-7. Free. Details.

Shakedown Street A Night of Grateful Dead at The Music Yard at SouthBound: Josh Daniel’s Grateful Band will be playing classic Grateful Dead tunes. 6pm. $15+. Details.

Taylor Fest at Amos Soth End: This traveling music event is a party dedicated to Swifties. Get ready to sing along to all your favorite T-Swift jams. 9pm. $20. Details.

Amphibious Duathlon at the Whitewater Center: Put your body to the test in a competition across land and water. The route consists of two 5K legs and a 2K paddle. The in-person race has sold out but there is still availability for the virtual option. August 13-18. $45. Details.

Cactus Club Grand Re-Opening at 909 Central Ave., Ste. 1: Cactus Club has relocated from South End to Plaza Midwood and is celebrating with 15% off storewide, freebies and seltzers for guests. 11-6pm. Free. Details.

Cardio Funk at Midnight Mulligan Brewery: Start your morning off with a fun workout that uses dance to help you build and sweat. Bring a buddy for an extra fun time. 11am. $10. Details.

Craft Vintage Market at Brewers at 4001 Yancey: More than 30 local vendors will set up shop for the first Craft Vintage Market. Expect finds like vintage clothing, handmade goods and other wares. Noon to 5pm. Free. Details.

August Market at Armored Cow Brewing Co.: Enjoy brews from the taproom while browsing local artists and vendors. This event is dog-friendly. 1-6pm. Free. Details.

AfroPop! Sound System Mini-Block Party at The Spoke Easy: Get ready for an outdoor music experience with a talented lineup of artists, food trucks & vendors and an interactive screen printing installation. 5-10pm. Free. Details.

Disco Inferno at The Music Yard: Move and groove to a funky selection of disco jams from a lineup of guest DJs. 6pm. $5+. Details.

Mac and Cheese Competition at Pilot Brewing: For $12, guests can sample a variety of mac & cheese dishes and determine a winner. This event is limited to ages 21+ due to space limitations. 6-8pm. $12. Details.

Charlotte FC vs. Chicago Fire FC at Bank of America Stadium: It’s another gameday on home turf so put on your FC gear and take to the stands to root for our team. 7pm. $29+. Details.

OH Happy Day! 3rd Birthday Party at Optimist Hall: In honor of turning three, Optimist Hall is celebrating with activations like a bounce house, face painting, balloon animal and caricature artists among other festivities. Front Porch Sundays at Atherton Mill: Check out local vendors while walking along the rail trail and enjoy live music and interactive fun. 11am to 4pm. Free. Details.

BeatFreaq at Starlight on 22nd: This creative kickback aims to showcase local producers and beatmakers, but will also allow other folks in the music and arts industry to connect. Whether you’re a photographer, writer, video director, visual artist, rapper, singer or just a music enthusiast, you’re welcome to join in on the occasion.3-7pm. Free. Details.
