The Weekender is proudly presented by Charlotte Motor Speedway, host of the Circle K Monster Truck Bash on August 14. Expect a family-friendly night with Monster Truck rides, inflatables, autographs, food and souvenirs. Plus, kids get in for just $10.

First Friday Gallery Crawl in South End: Tour South End art galleries Dilworth Artisan Station and Gallery C3 at Alchemy, and do an interactive, self-guided mural tour along the way. 6-10pm. Free. Details.

University City Food Truck Friday at 8821 JW Clay Blvd., Ste. 1: It’s food truck Friday at Armored Cow Brewing Co. This week’s food truck lineup features Deejai Foodtruck, Momo Truck, Perry’s À La Carte, Yappy Hour Bakery and ScratchKitchenClt. Starving Artist Market will also be set up with plenty of vendors to support. 5-9pm. Free. Details.

Panthers Fan Fest at Bank of America Stadium: Get fired up for the upcoming season and check out the Panthers as they practice on the stadium field. There will be performances by the TopCats, Sir Purr, PurrCussion and the Black & Blue Crew, plus a firework and laser show to top off the evening. 6pm. $5. Details.

BLKMRKTCLT New Growth Series Featuring Kin featuring Jamila & Wabwila at 1824 Statesville Ave.: BLKMRKTCLT’s New Growth Series continues with two phenomenal mixed media artists showcasing various pieces representing their pasts and travels. 6-9pm. Free. Details.

The Whiskey Club at The Ballantyne Hotel: Join the Ballantyne Hotel’s whiskey club for their monthly tasting event featuring a rotating selection of curated whiskeys. 6:30-8pm. $65. Details.

Charlotte Symphony Orchestra al Fresco: Harp in Chamber Music Online: The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra invites you to enjoy this virtual concert series featuring a diverse range of works. 7:30pm. Free. Details.
