The push to brand Montford Park — the area between Park Road Shopping Center and Selwyn Avenue along Park Road — is moving forward.

Last fall, neighborhood leaders announced a new name and nonprofit dedicated to more cohesion and collaboration in the area. They formed a board and started holding meetings with local businesses.

Now they’re building out the organization.

And some of their first tasks will be designing and installing more neighborhood signage and advocating with the city of Charlotte.

Montford Park launched a website and social media handles (see below) and have started creating volunteer committees in areas like merchant relations and event planning.

They’re planning a neighborhood meeting at 6 p.m. January 19 at Pfeiffer University to talk about what comes next.
