Three new stores are getting ready to open on Camden Road in South End
Camden Road in South End is getting ready for an influx of new retail.
Three new stores are getting ready to open up in the Camden Gallery building. Right on the Rail Trail and the light rail line. This street is very walkable and is becoming one of the coolest places in Charlotte.
First up is Blue Hem, opening March 18.
They do high-end denim. Keep up with their Facebook here.
Next is Blaze Pizza, planning for a big grand opening April 1.
They’re hiring people right now. Lots of interviews going on while I was there Monday. Look for free pizza on their opening day (we’ll have more details later on this).
Then comes Ultra Running, planning its opening for April 8.
It’s the second location for Ultra Running (the other is in Myers Park, at Providence and Queens). Owner Nathan Leehman says it will have an industrial feel and will have an artistic bent similar to the Goodyear building on Stonewall Street Uptown.
He’s also excited about the location. He says it will bring in a younger demographic and is also well positioned to bring in the community.
“This is the geographic center of South End,” he says.
Two more retail spots are still open.
One of them is on the corner with a nice little patio space. Aaron Ligon and Davis Hahn at LCRE Partners are handling the leasing.
All this is around the Camden Gallery apartments.
People started moving in February 25, and there are still a few fifth-floor units still leasing. Killer views from their top-floor terrace.
