New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern gave birth to a daughter on Thursday, announcing the news in an Instagram post.
Why it matters: Ardern is just the second elected world leader to have a child while in office, per the AP. Benazir Bhutto had a daughter while serving as Pakistan's prime minister in 1990.
