Go deeper: Scott Pruitt's growing list of bizarre scandals

Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt enlisted the help of a top aide to talk to "Republican donors who might offer his wife a job," the Washington Post reports, and was eventually successful in getting her a position at conservative political group Judicial Crisis Network.

The big picture: This is the latest in a string of ethical controversies surrounding Pruitt's spending and management decisions, which have resulted in a series of federal probes. Despite his questionable behavior, Pruitt continues to have support from the President. But, as Axios' Jonathan Swan reported at the beginning of May, that support has been wavering as the negative coverage piles on, and everyone else in the White House wants Pruitt out.
