Greg McAdoo has joined Bolt, a hardware-focused venture capital firm and startup accelerator, as its third general partner (and first in San Francisco).
Why it matters: McAdoo spent 12 years with Sequoia Capital, where he led a $600,000 seed investment in Airbnb at just pennies per share. He also led Sequoia's early investment in Y Combinator, where he would first be introduced to Airbnb by Paul Graham. He would leave Sequoia ― and the Airbnb board of directors ― in 2013, and since has kept a very low profile. Until now.
