Bombings at two Coptic Christian churches during Palm Sunday services have killed at least 36 people.
- 25 were killed and 60 wounded in Tanta in Northern Egypt when a bomb that had been placed under a seat detonated.
- At least 11 were killed and 35 wounded during a suicide bombing outside Saint Mark's Cathedral in Alexandria. The Coptic pope was reportedly inside. A police officer prevented the assailant from entering the church.
