Denver mayor's National Western arena plans incite pricey fight

Mayor Michael Hancock’s plans to spend $190 million in bonds for a new arena and public market at the National Western Center have incited a pricey clash.

Driving the news: Denver residents will vote on Hancock’s proposal this November when it appears on the ballot as Referred Question 2E.

Colorado brewers take home 21 GABF medals

Colorado breweries claimed 21 medals in the much-hyped Great American Beer Festival competition, far fewer than normal.

By the numbers: The awards, announced Friday at the Craft Brewers Conference, included seven gold medals for best-in-category brews.
