Data: CDC; Chart: Sara Wise/Axios

Colorado is less hesitant than other states when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccines, new research shows, but the portion who don't want it remains solid.

  • The Eastern Plains remain the most reluctant, according to a new analysis from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that looked at U.S. Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey.

By the numbers: A separate poll released Monday shows the population hesitant to the coronavirus vaccines remains stable in Colorado, despite a state campaign to boost confidence in the shots.

  • About 15% of likely Colorado voters said they don't plan to get the vaccine, according to a poll released Monday from Keating Research and two Democratic firms. The poll's margin of error is plus-or-minus 4.3 percentage points.
  • The late-April Keating poll is roughly the same as a different survey from late-February that put the number at 12%.

The Federal Election Commission has voted not to investigate allegations that Trump campaign representatives — including Donald Trump Jr. — solicited illegal foreign assistance in 2016, Axios has learned.

The big picture: The commission deadlocked in a 3-3 vote on whether to probe potential campaign finance violations surrounding an infamous meeting with two Russian nationals at Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign.

Inside the White House response to Colonial hack

Top White House officials — including counselor Steve Ricchetti and National Security Council chief of staff Yohannes Abraham — visited Camp David last weekend to brief President Biden about the Colonial Pipeline hack, sources familiar with the response tell Axios.

Why it matters: The high-level response, which also included daily calls from national security adviser Jake Sullivan, underscores the administration's heightened concern about fallout from the hack — both from national security and political perspectives.
