Arkansas Supreme Court rules state can enact voter ID law

The Arkansas Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that the state can enforce its voter ID law in this month's primary election, throwing out a trial court's ruling that the measure is unconstitutional.
The backdrop: Pulaski County Circuit Judge Alice Gray sided with a voter last week who argued the law side-stepped a 2014 Arkansas Supreme Court order that struck down a previous voter ID measure. The nearly identical measure to the 2014 law requires voters to show photo identification before casting a ballot.
