Ari Fleischer, former press secretary for President George W. Bush, went after President Trump in a tweet on Thursday for mocking George H.W. Bush's "thousand points of light" monicker during a rally in Montana.
The details: The "Thousand points of light" phrase was first used by George H.W. Bush in an inaugural speech when he talked about volunteerism, and said the thousand points of light were "community organizations that are spread like stars" and doing work around the nation.
- George H.W. Bush and his late wife Barbara Bush eventually created the Points of Light foundation — an organization dedicated to volunteerism.
