"Axios on HBO" renewed for 2020, 2021

Axios, HBO and DCTV have renewed "Axios on HBO" — a news-oriented, documentary series — for third and four seasons.

  • The 2020 and 2021 seasons will feature 12 half-hour episodes, with the option to add shorter, interview-driven Axios specials, designed to move with the news and drive the conversation in prime time.

Why it matters: Directed and produced by Emmy winners Matthew O’Neill (HBO’s "Baghdad ER") and Perri Peltz (HBO’s "Remembering the Artist Robert De Niro, Sr."), "Axios on HBO” features breaking news and big interviews, including President Trump, GM CEO Mary Barra, Elon Musk and more.

What’s next: “Axios on HBO” Season 2 returns this month on four consecutive Sundays, starting at 6 p.m. ET/PT on Oct. 20 on all HBO platforms.

“The worlds of politics, business, tech and culture are colliding faster and more furiously than ever. Viewers hunger to see — and fully understand — what really matters in this noisy age. This collaboration with HBO and DCTV has allowed us to put a sharp new lens on the people, ideas and trends at the heart of this collision.”
— Axios CEO Jim VandeHei
