The 2019 Grammys ceremony proves that this past year was the year of the woman, AP Music Writer Mesfin Fekadu reports.
Details: The Grammys have powerful female voices representing the majority in two of the top categories along with many others. Kacey Musgraves, H.E.R. and Janelle Monáe are up for album of the year and were also producers on their own projects. Brandi Carlile and Cardi B are up for both album and record of the year.
Editor's note: This post has been corrected to remove a sentence stating that Kevin Hart had stepped down as host of the Grammys. (He stepped down as the host of the Oscars earlier this week.)
