Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Philip Wilson, an Australian archbishop convicted of failing to report allegations of child sexual abuse by a priest in his diocese, reports the AP.
Why it matters: This comes just two days after the Pope accepted the resignation of Theodore McCarrick, an American cardinal accused of sexually abusing a teenager nearly 50 years ago. The Pope has had to deal with several Church-wide sex abuse scandals this year alone, including an investigation in Chile and reports of nuns coming forward with abuse stories of their own.
