USPS owes sculptor $3.5 million for stamp mix-up
The U.S. Postal Service owes a Las Vegas sculptor $3.5 million after accidentally printing Las Vegas' Statue of Liberty replica in 2011 instead of the original New York Statue on a stamp, CBS News reports.
The details: The sculptor, Robert Davidson, sued USPS years ago for using the replica which he created. USPS used the stamp for three months before realizing it was the wrong image, CBS reports, and Federal Judge Eric Bruggink ordered that Davidson be paid $3.5 million out of the $70 million that the agency made.
