President Trump said on Saturday that the New York Times made up a "senior White House official" in a story about the North Korea summit: "Use real people, not phony sources," he tweeted.
Why it matters: President Trump has frequently criticized media outlets for using anonymous sources, but the source used by the New York Times was a White House aide who did a background briefing call with a slew of reporters, and was anonymous because the White House insisted.
