Michael Bloomberg funds global tobacco watchdog

Michael Bloomberg has thrown $20 million behind the launch of STOP (Stopping Tobacco Organizations and Products), a new global watchdog agency to monitor the tobacco industry, The Guardian reports.

The plan: "Global information and data on the behavior of the tobacco companies, especially in low- and middle-income countries where they are seeking to grow their markets, will be collated and held on a public website."
