International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach will accept an invitation to North Korea following the culmination of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics on Feb. 25, Bach told Reuters in an interview Monday.

Why it matters: The IOC signed an agreement with North and South Korea on Jan. 20 to have athletes from both countries march together for the first time in 12 years, a major breakthrough that officials hope will lead to peace talks down the road. Though an exact date for the visit has not been set, Bach's invitation further signals a potential thawing of relations between the two Koreas.
