The Democratic super PAC Forward Majority helped Democrats flip at least 11 state House seats in Texas last night after investing $2.2 million in 32 of these races last month.
Why it matters: Democrats lost 1,000 state legislature seats during Obama’s presidency. Forward Majority says Texas is one of the most gerrymandered states in the country, and they hope chipping away at the state legislature will lay “the groundwork to build a Democratic bench in the state for years to come,” said Forward Majority Communications Director Ben Wexler-Waite.
