What we're watching: House GOP considers cutting UN funds
Some House Republicans are debating moves against the UN after the Obama Administration didn't protect Israel from a resolution that denounced Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
What to watch: The House Freedom Caucus meets next Monday and will either vote to reduce U.S. funding to the UN, or make funding voluntary. This second move would give Congress leverage each year to cut U.S. funding for the U.N. as it pleases. The U.S. gave the U.N. $3 billion in 2016.
Republican Jim Bridenstine is developing the legislation, per BuzzFeed.
Don't forget: The U.S. also provides additional "voluntary contributions" to UN agencies which increases the total.
