Jeff Jones, the former Target CMO who now presides over Uber's ride-hailing business, shared on Thursday some of the insights he's learned since joining the company in September:
- Uber's "driver destination" option, which lets drivers pick up a passenger during their commute makes up 5% of all rides worldwide.
- Drivers cash out $45 million in earnings every week via Uber's Instant Pay feature.
- Uber has more than 1.5 billion drivers globally.
- The company reduced the number of messages (SMS, email, etc.) it sends to drivers by 30% last month.
Areas for improvement: Jones also acknowledges that the company still has a lot of work to do when it comes to its support services for drivers, communicating with drivers, and continuing to improve its driver app.
