White House budget director Mick Mulvaney told CNN's Jake Tapper that President Trump has two "red lines" in his tax reform plan, which critics say will primarily benefit the wealthy:
- The middle class "will pay less and it will be easier for them to pay ... One of the things that's been lost in this debate is 90% of American families, not businesses, but families, pay someone else to do their taxes."
- "That corporate rate has got to come down. The corporate rate has to be, I think right now number is 20% ... That's the change that encourages businesses to come back from overseas.
