Soaring Ossoff falls short of outright victory in Georgia
Democrat Jon Ossoff — a 30-year-old documentary filmmaker powered by $9 million in donations — got by far the most votes in the special election to fill HHS Secretary Tom Price's House seat in Georgia, but fell short of the 50% threshold needed to win outright. He'll now face Republican Karen Handel in a runoff in June.
The results with 86% reporting: Ossoff 48.6%, Handel 19.5%, with 16 candidates splitting the rest.
