A senior U.S. official told the AP that Russia had advanced notice of the deadly chemical weapons attack last week that led Donald Trump to order retaliatory military strikes. Here's what we know:
- A Russian-operated drone flew over a Syrian hospital where victims of the attack were treated. The U.S. official said it couldn't have been a coincidence since Russia must have known the civilians would be seeking treatment.
- A few hours later, a Russian-made fighter jet bombed the hospital. American officials think this was an attempt to cover up the chemical weapons attack.
- The official said it wasn't clear who manned the aircraft that bombed the hospital.
