Barack H. Obama, J.D. had some interesting thoughts this morning on the risks of repealing the Affordable Care Act in the New England Journal of Medicine:
'Repeal and replace' is a deceptively catchy phrase — the truth is that health care reform is complex, with many interlocking pieces, so that undoing some of it may undo all of it.
POTUS specifically cited the GOP rumblings to keep coverage for preexisting conditions while scrapping the individual mandate as a "complex trade-off" — all while tossing in a sly dig that the individual mandate was initially a Republican idea in Mitt Romney's Massachusetts.
