House leadership is seriously considering including the North Korea sanctions bill that passed the House 419-1 in the Russia-Iran sanctions bill, as a source with direct knowledge said House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Ed Royce supports the move. It would be the most significant sanctions package to pass the House in recent memory.
Why this matters: House leadership is impatient the Senate hasn't been passing its bills, so they're looking to link Russia and North Korea bills, making it even more difficult to resist in the Senate. It's uncontroversial legislation, but could run into difficulties in the Senate because the upper chamber has just introduced its own North Korea sanctions package
