Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who said earlier this year he plans to visit 30 states in 12 months, spent the last couple of days in North Carolina. After visiting Fort Bragg and a few local universities like Duke and UNC, Zuckerberg hit the Charlotte Motor Speedway with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Still no sign of an official political campaign, however.
Tech activism takes a slightly new direction: At a small rally in downtown Palo Alto, a few hundreds rallied to promote more political engagement from tech companies. Along with the usual issues to protecting immigrants and opposing Donald Trump's discriminatory policies, a new refrain emerged: tech companies should share their riches with the rest of the country. "I'd like to see Google invest in Idaho," said one engineer, according to Recode.
