Gas prices surge ahead of Labor Day weekend

Gas prices have surged across the country in the wake of Hurricane Harvey after many of the nation's largest refineries shut down during the storm. On average, the price for one gallon of regular unleaded increased 15 cents a gallon since Aug. 24th, the day before Harvey made landfall in South Texas. South Carolina saw the single largest increase from $2.07 to $2.39 a gallon—an increase of 32 cents.
