Sen. Susan Collins, the moderate from Maine who helped sink repeal and replace efforts on health care, says that while Jeff Flake is one of her closest colleagues in the Senate, she doesn't plan to speak out against Trump the way Flake did last week.
"I think we need to accept that Donald Trump is our president" and we need to work with him to get anything accomplished, she said.
On taxes: The officials steering the GOP tax plan may be encouraged by what Collins had to say on that score. She said she was "encouraged" by the early developments, and cited an estimate that growth could cover the cost of the cuts.
